Dear Fellow Sergeant,

It is with deep sadness that I write to you regarding the senseless murder of Police Office Randolph Holder last night. Office Holder was a 5 year veteran of the department who responded last night to a 911 call of gunfire between two gangs in East Harlem. He was shot in the head and died from his injuries. Officer Holder’s partner returned fire, striking the gunman in the leg and buttocks. The perp was then apprehended.

Office Holder was devoted to serving our city. His father was a police officer in his native Guyana. He is the 4th NYPD Officer killed in the line of duty in the last 10 months. This is unacceptable!! Please keep the family of Office Holder in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. And remember, your priority is to return home to your family safely at the end of your tour. The citizens of this great city thank you for your service. WE thank you for your service. Look out for one another. As always, be safe.

May God bless you all,

Ed Mullins
President
